What is it?
Radon is an odorless, invisible, radioactive gas that enters your home from the ground, through cracks in the foundation. Listed as an established human carcinogen, radon is the second leading known cause of lung cancer.
Why does it matter?
According to the PA Department of Environmental Protection: “Pennsylvania has one of the most serious radon problems in the country. An estimated 40 percent of Pennsylvania homes have radon levels above Environmental Protection Agency’s action guideline of 4 picocuries per liter.”
What can you do?
Strike radon testing data is available by zip code; however, the smartest thing you can do is to test your home for radon, despite where you live. You can protect yourself and your loved ones by ordering a home radon test.
